Earth Travel Brings Light

The Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere occurred 2 days and approximately 2 hours ago...Mountain time!  The energetic pulse is still palpable!
During a solstice, (winter/shortest day...summer/longest day) the Earth's movement...TRAVEL...is  one of the most useful and important phenomenons in astronomy...dictating the seasons.  It is the moment the sun travels its shortest path through the sky providing the least sunlight.  The Earth's North Pole is tilted the farthest away from the sun denoting the onset of winter!
Winter Solstice has meaning on a number of levels.  Most literally, it refers to the "birth of the sun"...both universally and personally.  Here, in the Northern Hemisphere, the winter solstice corresponding to the Christmas/New Year season, the concept of nurturing new beginnings is highlighted.  Spiritually, this event is a celebration of our spirit being transformed from inner darkness into light.  This allows our dark side to surface, be acknowledged and be healed.
To me, it is a time to be still and prepare for the thrill of newness in my life even if the details are obscure!!!  I take time to recognize all the personal moments of 'darkness' that I am so grateful for.  I express my appreciation for the transformative power of those moments by consciously creating Light all around me from a place of perpetual Light within me.
Though the actual 'solstice' occurred at 10:11 AM Mountain time two days ago, I assure you it was just the opening of a door to hundreds of thousands of opportunities that are forthcoming for each of us to celebrate the light of the sun and of ourselves!
If you choose to travel down the road to change or growth this New Year, please consider shining your own Light a little brighter!

OOPS! I Couldn't Help It!!!

Two of the visual wonders that I'll be focusing on when I get on the road are waterfalls and national parks.  Well, I had the opportunity last weekend to visit Carlsbad Caverns in southeastern NM with a friend.  Now, officially, it is Carlsbad National Park!!!  So, I'm wondering if I "cheated" by going there without an RV...without actually having begun my adventure?  Hmmmm?  Enough pondering...I VOTE NO!!!  LOL
My experience just before entering the caverns, I believe, contributed to preparing me for my adventure.  When I realized the caverns' path of 'switchbacks' lead to over 750' beneath the earth's surface...my otherwise minor claustrophobic tendency suddenly became MAJOR!  My throat thickened, my stomach tightened, and my knees weakened!
It took me a few minutes to get myself together.  I realized this was a chance to face my fears head-on and not allow them to prevent me from seeing something incredible...the 2nd largest cavern in the whole world!!!
Three hours later, I resurfaced from an unimaginable and spectacular world.  And I'm so grateful that I can say that I am a step closer to being ready to journey into the unknown!  I have included a few images for you to enjoy.

Speaking of travel....

WOW!  I just saw the most beautiful "something" soar across the sky as I was coming home from the grocery store!  Was it a comet?  A meteor? A shooting star? It was nothing short of spectacular!  It lasted quite awhile.  As soon as it disappeared on the far side of the mountain, I looked at my phone..it was 9:11PM.
Thank goodness I was able to stop the car right where the "sky traveler" caught my attention!  Had I been on the main road, it could have been a problem!  I've never seen anything quite so magnificent.  At moments like this, gratitude for my senses and being in the right place at the right time also soars!

Thanksgiving Can be Anywhere at Anytime

First, let me wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving Day!  May each of you be filled with peace, love, laughter and heartfelt appreciation for every moment that makes up your life!  Say thank you to someone today!
I experienced an evening of thanksgiving two days ago.  I was invited to a friend's home for a wonderful dinner and to meet her brother and his wife.  They began their full time RV adventure in January.  They shared some experiences and offered many great suggestions that are likely to make my own experience more pleasant and cost effective!!!
I am, of course, very grateful for the information shared, but moreso, the camaraderie among us who share the same passion for adventure!  I made two new friends!  We exchanged contact information and plan to keep tabs on each other as we travel around the country.  We talked about how cool it would be to meet up somewhere and share another lovely evening together!  IT COULD HAPPEN!
Thanks Ed and Elena!  AND, Margaret...awesome meatballs!  Thanks for everything!  Happy Thanksgiving!!!

The Pre-adventure Adventure

Little did I realize that when I decided to embark upon the adventure of living a completely new lifestyle, that preparing for it was going to be an amazing adventure in itself!  And let me say this: It's a good thing I like LISTS!!!
A few of my current list headings are:  WHAT TO DO - WHAT TO LEARN - WHAT TO TAKE - WHAT TO STORE - WHAT TO SELL - WHAT TO GIVE AWAY - WHAT TO BUY - and my favorite, WHERE TO GO!  Intermittent indulgence researching the latter keeps me sane while chipping away at the former lists!
There's another LIST that is growing.  The one titled RV DETAILS.  Subheadings include: WHAT KIND - HOW BIG - WHERE TO BUY - NEW OR USED - INTERIOR REQUIREMENTS - BEST LOAN OPTIONS and WHERE THE HECK AM I GONNA PARK MY HOME WHEN I VISIT FAMILY AND FRIENDS BACK EAST...LOL
Oh, and did I mention the LETTING GO OF A STATIONARY RESIDENCE AND WHAT THAT MEANS list?  Suddenly, thoughts that never ever entered my conscious awareness are front and center on a daily basis!
*getting mail without an address
*letting go of 90% of my worldly possessions (and in 2 months!)
*new grocery shopping strategies
*RV, moped and bike transportation
*dumping my very own Spot-a Pot
*considering an item's weight before purchasing it
*HOME being where I park it
*needing unbreakable dishes
*getting excited having spotted a surprise laundromat
*meeting new people regularly
This may seem like a lot to take on...perhaps it is...but I am loving it all!  As hectic as it has been and will be until I actually get on the road, I can't complain at all!!!
A dream is coming true for me and the loving support from family, friends, coworkers and especially strangers (other RV-ers already 'doing it') has been such a wonderful gift!
If I don't get back before next Thursday...have a spectacular Thanksgiving!
Remember to give thanks for all the blessings that are already on their way to you as well as those you already enjoy!

Look out USA...here I come!

WELCOME TO MY NEW BLOG PAGE!!!  There's a new adventure beginning for me.  I decided that it is time to check something off my bucket list...I'm going on the road in early spring!  YEP!  Selling all my 'stuff', buying an RV and going exploring across this amazing country!  Once I realized that it was entirely feasible to finally manifest my dream, I began to look into information that might be helpful to me.  WOW...with each thing I come up with...comes 5 more things!  How exciting...
Stay tuned, as I'll be posting the wild and wonderful preparations that promise to make me a modern-day turtle...or snail....LOL

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
